New Great Lakes moth study published

  • posted

A major study of eastern U.S. moths has recently been completed by one of the speakers at our 2023 annual meeting in Ludington, Hugo Kons of Appleton, WI.  The report characterizes the distributional dynamics of an entire fauna in unprecedented detail, based on the author’s decades of close observation of moth populations in the Great Lakes Region and the U.S. Southeast.  The study is centered in Outagamie County in east-central Wisconsin, encompassing parts of the cities of Green Bay and Appleton.
